Executive Board

President: Bernadette menendez

Bernadette Menendez (she/her) is a third year law student at Seton Hall Law.

She currently holds positions as the President for MetroLALSA and as a Director for the Rebeka Verea Foundation. She was previously the Vice President of Public Relations for MetroLALSA from 2022-2023.

As the daughter of Cuban immigrants who fled their home because of communism; attending law school is life-long dream come true. Bernadette’s parents taught her how to “echar pa’lante” and work hard for your dreams. The lessons she learned from her parents and her faith have been at the forefront throughout her career. As a first generation American, college student, and law student, she did not have attorneys to look up to or mentor her. This is her prime motivation for MetroLALSA, as she is passionate about ensuring mentorship is available to all latino/a/x law students. Her goal is to ensure the next generation of attorneys succeed by learning from her mistakes and taking wisdom from her triumphs. Bernadette is determined to be the best advocate for her community, her future clients, and for all the little Latinas who also dream of being “una abogada” one day.

Bernadette is currently finishing up her summer associate position with Davis, Saperstein & Salomon in Teaneck, NJ. After graduation, she looks forward to assuming the role of law clerk for Judge Gregg A. Padovano, J.S.C. for the 2024-2025 term.
